

You can see the fort's walls, stretching like the Great Wall of China further than the eye can see. You can see the small village that you passed on your way in, with children playing on roofs and in the streets, like ants so far below. It's like being on top of the world looking down over creation. You climb up the winding path to the fort, and then keep climbing up inside, until you find yourself on the roof. It's hard to imagine what it must have been like as a living fort (it's a shame some rooms aren't reconstructed with furnishings), but it's nonetheless incredible to visit. Views from the rooms of the fort stretch for miles and miles.

I thought it rivalled the Jaipur Fort in the competition for "best fort in Rajasthan" - maybe in the world. This fort is in the middle of nowhere, and it's huge and amazing.
